November 17: Exploring HK with Kay
Today I would catch up with meetURplanet member Kay. We met around 6pm with her sister Phoebe and headed off towards the Temple Street markets. Temple street is well known for fortune tellers who can give you a glimpse of your destiny for just a few dollars!

We enjoyed ourselves walking around and looking at everything on offer. I sampled some traditional dishes, though not quite brave enough to try some of the dishes Kay is photographed with! The stall owner even advised me against it. Around 8pm we met with a couple of Kay’s friend Dai Mei and Terry who would take us in their car off to The Peak.

The Peak at night offers a view of Hong Kong unparalleled. After soaking up the view we drove down to the Harbour and walked around. Being driven around Hong Kong was fantastic and allowed me to experience another side I hadn’t previously seen. It was now getting late so we still hadn’t eaten! Around 11pm we sat down for some great chinese food and an end to a another great day :)

The MTR station at Tsim Sha Tsui. In a city like HK you need a meeting place where you can find each other amongst the crowds!
Jeff in Temple street as the sign says!
Checking out the Temple street markets are from left, Phoebe(Kay's sister), Jeff and my great host for the night(Kay).
At the markets you can buy whatever you want from cheap watches to underwear!
Sizzling food! Not sure what they are cooking? But it sure smells good!
Kay gives these home cooked selections the thumbs up!
After a closer look the only thing I can recognise here is the baby octupi. The rest Kay said I wouldn't like and this time I decided not to be adventurous!
Kays friends who kindly drove us around in their car, Terry (left) and Dai Mei (right)having fun.
The view from the car as we approach the tunnel under the HK harbour.
We headed up to the Peak to see the breathtaking view of the city, though at night rather than in the daytime as this photo suggests.
Up at the Peak Phoebe, Terry and Dai Mei have fun with a cow!
Did we see a ghost? No, just down at the harbour now enjoying ourselves.
Dai mei and Terry smiling for the camera's.
Now it was time for some real food :)Even though it's 11pm, it's easy to find great local food in HK.
A close up of some of the tasty delights.
