On the way to Oze, I just had to stop and take some photos of the scenery. |
The mountain country in Japan is very beautiful, and a far cry from the concrete jungle and smog of Tokyo. |
A great sunny day! You wouldn`t think it was typhoon weather only yesterday. |
Ayako is pretty happy to be going back to Oze. It`s a special place she says. |
Also excited to be here!! :) |
The beginning of two days walking in the mountains. |
After walking for a few hours… still lots of energy! |
Even though Oze is some 1400 metres above sea level, it is a wetland of lakes and marshes. |
It is home to a rich variety of plants and animals. The extensive boardwalk system throughout the park helps protect this fragile environment from the millions of visitors that come here. |
My biscuit!! |
Still lots of energy!! |
With the mist settling in between the mountain peaks we arrived at the lodging. |
Oichii, tasty Japanese food. |
After a fantastic day walking it was nice to sit down to a great meal. |
After dinner we grabbed an ale at the bar. |
It was nice and cool in the mountains, and we were lucky to pick a quiet time, with relatively few people visiting the park at the moment. |
