Why
am I here? I love the idea of bringing people together from
all over the world. I think this website has the potential to
do just that! I also enjoy meeting people and learning about
other cultures, hense my being part of this site.

memorable meetURplanet.com travel experience: |
Up until August 2001 I hadn`t done any travelling aside from
in my home country, Australia. Then I visited Japan, Malaysia
and Singapore on a 5 week backpacking trip meeting many meetURplanet.com
members along the way. Now I`m living in Osaka, Japan. It`s
definitely been an interesting 6 months!
Many experiences come to mind, and it is hard to pick one single
memorable travel experience. It`s difficult to decide between
the dinner parties in Osaka and Tokyo with local hosts, clubbing
in Kuala Lumpur with member Matthew and friends, or spending
time in the historic town of Melaka with member Dinah and her
friend and family. |
It
would have to be a tie between Osaka with its great food and
friendly people, and Tokyo the capital of "cute and cool".
In both these cities I`ve experienced some great hospitality
that made me feel like I was actually one of the locals. Spend
some time in these cities and you will feel their amazing vibe.
When you`re in Japan it`s difficult to ignore Kyoto, the culture
captial. This city is rich with temples set in a beautiful mountainous
landscape and will always have a special place in my memories. |

I first met Marty in April 2000 in my city. We became good friends
and he warmed to the idea of meetURplanet.com. He wanted to
be part of this great big adventure and has proceeded to embrace
the concept with open arms. We have spent many nights together
working into the early morning!
Marty has been there since the start working tirelessly. If
there is one other person integral in getting this website up
and running it would have to be Marty. His technical knowledge,
passion for the concept, reliability and (pretty good with a
late night stir fry!), made him a natural for the team.
Recently he has had the opportunity to move to Japan and from
there he continues to be a driving force. |
